The Bluffs at Bell Creek

By Sheila Talley
Becky Hatch, vice president of sales and marketing at Tomac Corporation, has announced that nine new homes are available at the Bluffs at Bell Creek. Each home offers four bedrooms, a two-car garage and a finished third level, which, she says, can be used as a playroom, an extra bedroom or whatever fits the family’s needs. The homes range in size from 3,000 to 3,500 square feet.
Tomac“What sets Tomac Corporation apart from the others,” Hatch says, “is the everyday value of the standards included in the home.” Hatch explains that hardwood floors are standard on the first level. Tankless water heaters, low maintenance exteriors, gutters on front and back with guards, double hung insulated windows, sealed ductwork, efficient gas heat, sod and irrigation are other features. Tomac has offered quality, style and service for over 30 years and prides itself as Richmond’s premier builder.
Located three tenths of a mile from the I-295 Interchange (Pole Green Road exit) and one and a half miles from Bon Secours Regional Memorial Hospital, this unique master planned community includes a single-family neighborhood that boasts a clubhouse, swimming pool, tennis court, and walking trails. Nearby Hanover schools include Hanover High, Oak Knoll Middle and Rural Point Elementary.
Becky Hatch tells us that Tomac Corporation is offering fantastic new pricing starting in the $390s for closings prior to June 30th 2008. Hometown Realty representative, Jamie Burrus can be reached at 726-4540 or call Ann Balance at 722-7585. Both invite you to come out and take a tour of these new homes.

Covenant Woods
Continuing Care for All Lifestyles
From its description, you might think Covenant Woods sounds more like a resort than a retirement village. Located off Lee Davis Road in Mechanicsville, on 75 acres of land, this Continuing Care Retirement Community offers three types of living.
Covenant WoodsThe active person or couple with good health can choose independent living in cottages, some with two car garages. Apartment living is also offered. An entry fee guarantees the resident health care for the rest of his or her life. The independent resident pays a monthly fee, which includes weekly linen services, weekly house cleaning, maintenance, cable TV hookup, all utilities, and the luxury of an on-site security guard. At least one meal per day is included, but the resident can choose either a two or three meal a day plan. Heat and air-conditioning levels are controlled by the resident and if the resident needs temporary health care, he or she can move to the health unit at no extra charge.
Activities are plentiful. There is a fitness gym and a sports pool. Fitness and art classes are also offered, as is entertainment brought in from various sources at no extra charge, except supplies for certain classes. Residents can do as much or as little as they want. While on vacation, the meal charges are put on hold and when residents leave, they can relax, knowing their home is secure.
The second lifestyle option is assistive living, where the resident receives a helping hand in providing their daily care. The third option is the Health Care residence where intensive care is provided. Grace Gardens, another section of Covenant Woods, provides folks with dementia skilled nursing care.
Once a residence pays an entry fee, the fee will not go up if he or she needs to move into a different part of the community. Even if the resident’s money runs out, there is a fund from which to draw, allowing the resident to remain in his or her home at Covenant Woods.
The concept of Covenant Woods sprang from “The Richmond Home for Ladies,” which, over 125 years ago, was established, originally, to help care for the needs of women who had lost their husbands and sons in the Civil War. Many of the ladies, who once served on the board of that storied institution, now make their home at Covenant Woods. For more information, call 804-569-8000.
