Retail Guru To Address Tough Economic Times at the Retail Merchants Association’s Annual Marketing Expo
George Whalin, founder of Retail Management Consultants and nationally-recognized author and retail expert, will share “Strategies for a Changing Retail World” at a business lunch held on Tuesday, August 5 during the 4th annual Retail Marketing Expo at the Greater Richmond Convention Center.
The author of Retail Success, now in its eighth printing, Whalin writes the monthly Retail Management E-Letter, an online newsletter with subscribers all over the world. His advice on retail marketing has appeared in USA Today, The Wall Street Journal, Business Week, CNNMoney, and Oprah Magazine, among other national publications. At the Expo lunch session from 12:00 to 1:15 on August 5, Whalin will offer specific tips on how retailers can survive and thrive in tough economic times.
“George Whalin has been helping retailers increase sales and maximize profits since 1987,” said William H. Baxter, President and CEO of the Retail Merchants Association. “In addition to being the keynote lunch speaker at the Expo, he will also moderate a panel of local retailers later that afternoon during an Expo educational power session at 3:00 PM. Richmond-area retailers will have two opportunities to hear his words of retail wisdom.”
